House Managers

The job description and the responsibilities outlined below areĀ  general guidelines only. As each Family’s needs and requirements are unique and different, the specific expectations and job responsibilities should be initially discussed during the interview and later included in the Family/Employee Agreement.

HOUSE MANAGER – Provides skilled workmanship, organization, and assistance for a family’s home, pets and family members. In addition he/she is responsible for the smooth operation of the entire household.

Brief description of what House Managers do:

  • Answer residence phone
  • Assist with staff training
  • Organize the duties and schedule of other domestic staff
  • Keep the household’s inventory supplies
  • Schedule and coordinate vendors of contracted services
  • Oversee family packing and travel preparations
  • Assist with planing and organizing parties in the home
  • Manage the rest of the domestic staff
  • Take care of all the little details at home

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Cleaning and maintenance of the home
  • Care of clothing and arranging for any dry cleaning
  • Care of china, silver and crystal
  • Care of artwork and antiques
