Babysitters

The job description and the responsibilities outlined below are general guidelines only. As each Family’s needs and requirements are unique and different, the specific expectations and job responsibilities should be initially discussed during the interview and later included in the Family/Employee Agreement.

BABYSITTER: Primarily provides temporary care and supervision of children when the parents are not home.
Sitter’s services are typically on part-time or as-needed basis and often for only a few hours at a time.

All the candidates are extensively interviewed and a background check is also performed as a part of the routine screening process.

A Babysitter’s responsibilities are generally limited to child-related tasks only (usually transportation of children to or from school or activities, preparation of family’s meals, errands, laundry or light housekeeping etc. is not a part of Sitter’s job description), however such additional responsibilities may be negotiated with a Sitter.

Brief description of what Babysitters do:

  • Entertain and play with children
  • Prepare children’s meals and feed children according to parents’ instructions
  • Clean up the kitchen after a meal
  • Change diapers
  • Put children to bed
  • Generally provide for the well-being of the children
